Mineral Powder Sunscreen
Traditional sunblock is greasy and doesn’t work well with makeup, it makes you cry like 10 year old when you get it in your eye and reduces mascara to a watery black mess. Exactly the small detail that can distract you and take away from your special day.
I stumbled across this in a store and it quickly became my favorite wedding day makeup. Apply this high SPF mineral powder sunscreen and you get a double benefit. It protects you from the sun at your beach wedding AND it gives you a nice matte finish as your final touch. A matte finish is incredibly important for your flash photography session post ceremony to even out your skin tones.
There are so many cute ideas I see at ceremonies I perform. A growing trend is individual treats rather than one large or multi tiered traditional cakes. Here are three example ideas of alternative desserts to serve at your event.

Check out this three tier cake pop display I found on Amazon in white. It’s perfect!
Take my word for it as a wedding officiant in Jacksonville, FL and amateur photographer, getting photos to actually come out the same as what the eye sees is hard. Really hard. So many things impact the final image from lighting to makeup, from time of day to the setting in which the wedding photo was taken. Below you will find a line item laundry list of getting better wedding photos and other pictures in general.
Wedding Makeup Tips
Apply eyeshadow first before your foundation.
Line the upper inner rim of your eye.
Use tons of mascara – tip: blink down on wand to get it as close to eye as possible then wiggle the wand upward to coat the whole thing.
Use a sheer foundation.
Put foundation on ears.
Skip the shimmer on the inner edges of eyelids (the V area closest to nose) and use a concealer there instead.
Contour face with a blush brush.
Use a slightly darker blush than normal so your cheekbones really pop.
Fill in your brows.
Moisten your lips with a shiny lip balm or lip gloss.
Smile but not too big.
Take pictures earlier or later in the day. Never at midday.
Elevate your camera at a slightly tilted angle.
Taking selfies? Let the tallest person hold the camera.
Use a highlighting creme and apply a light thin line to bridge of nose and at the very tip of the nose.
This Grandlash mascara is guaranteed not to run and is the #1 bestseller on Amazon with over 1500 reviews.

Spring wedding ceremonies outdoors in Treaty Oaks Park in downtown Jacksonville, FL are so pretty. Home to the oldest tree in Jacksonville (more than 200 years) its branches spread out far and wide, and are so long and heavy that many rest directly on the ground. To give you perspective, this tree is larger than an office building.
This morning I performed a commitment ceremony for the two most adorable senior citizens. Pension payouts and other financial concerns means they can’t get married. That didn’t stop these two lovebirds. From the 22nd floor in her senior center apartment, with two friends attending and another snapping pictures, Liz and Elijah made beautiful promises of love and loyalty to each other overlooking the downtown skyline.
Folks, making dreams come true is the reason I do this job.
There’s beaded wedding dresses and then there’s this dress….
400 lb beaded wedding dress
Obviously made for Superman’s fiance, this 400 lb masterpiece is a stunning display of both beauty and ostentation. Imagine putting this baby on…you’d have to do it right there in front of the audience since you wouldn’t be able to move once you got it on. Unless, of course, you really are Superman’s fiance.
