Beach Wedding Guide | Foreward

A beach wedding guide to plan your ceremony in Jacksonville, FL, St. Augustine, FL or Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, Florida. Everything you need to know about creating a beach ceremony in NE Florida has been detailed in this book.

Foreword

“My job is marrying people. My vocation…making dreams come true.”

Close your eyes and imagine yourself on your wedding day.

Are you standing on a beach with your fiancé by your side – just the two of you at sunset with dolphins frolicking just off the shore?

Maybe you envision you and your darling standing under an arch with a warm Florida sun on your shoulders as your friends and family sit nearby to witness your magical moment as you make important promises to each other?

Wedding Arch on a Beach in Florida photo

Perhaps you aren’t even sure yet what that vision is and need some help figuring it all out…you only know that for as long as you can remember, you’ve wanted to get married on a beach.

As a dream maker, I passionately strive towards achieving my clients’ vision for their perfect day. It is with some apprehension when I see choices that can, and on occasion do, mar a special moment. Choices, that, had they asked, or thought to consider in advance, would have been a non issue and thus ensuring their sugar plum wedding.

When I set out to write this book, it with a specific objective. Let me ask you, have you ever gone on a vacation and thought to yourself, if only I had a local who could show me around – all the best stuff to do, where to save the most money, tips and tricks that only locals would know? That’s the angle I took when writing this book. Having performed hundreds of weddings in northeast Florida, I’ve accumulated mountains of tribal knowledge to share with you here. This book is crafted with goals of answering a common set of questions about beach wedding planning and giving out-of-towners (as well as local clients) the best tools I can offer to help them achieve their wedding ceremony vision.

How did I do this?

Lets just say I didn’t take a leisurely stroll on the beach and jot down some thoughts. I’ve spent countless hours literally walking block by block to map over 200 public beaches while covered in sunblock and sand, and eaten so many sandwiches in my car that I could live the rest of my life and happily never eat a tuna fish sandwich again. I’ve driven popular driving routes from airports, ports and hotels so you have the most accurate information to plan from. I’ve taken picture upon picture so you can see exactly what the area looks like, and talked with so many people, I hate the sound of my own voice.

But most important, I sat down and wrote about everything I could possibly think of, in hopes that it will give you concrete details so you can make decisions, no matter where in the world you live.

This book is my dream come true, authored specifically so your dream can come true.

Enjoy!

Local Jacksonville Spa Offers Sinfully Soothing Services for Tiny Prices

Getting a facial or a massage is one of the nicest things you can do for yourself, especially if you’re looking to pamper yourself right before your wedding. The feeling of sure, strong fingers rubbing delicious emollients into your thirsty skin literally melts away worries and anxieties. Usually a luxury too expensive to enjoy on a regular basis, there is one resource local to Jacksonville, Florida that is a game changer.

wedding spa servicesThis post profiles Heritage Education’s spa services where advanced students ply their craft to obtain required hours to complete their curricula. The spa offers facials and massages; you choose from a variety of options they offer.

While most spas charge from $60-120 for these services, you’ll find a range of choices from $32-45 for full services usually 55 minutes long. What a deal! Moreover, the quality of service is as professional as this blogger has received at a regular day spa for about 1/3 the price.

Let me say that again.

You can get an hour long facial of the same quality and same professionalism as a mainstream spa for only $32!!!

If you’re not into facials, opt for a massage. They offer several flavors to choose from,eg, Shiatsu, sports, deep tissue, etc. Again, the price is ridiculously lower than a regular day spa. The service received is absolutely comparable to that at any area spa I’ve encountered. I’m loathe to ever pay inflated spa prices again as a result of patronizing Heritage.

Additionally, it is this blogger’s opinion that the service was of a higher quality as these providers are at the start of their careers…ergo, they are trying harder. Your complete satisfaction means something to them.

Brides should visit the spa about one week before the wedding. Get a massage. Have a facial. Let all those wonderful ingredients they apply do their magic, and on your wedding day, you’ll be glowing and gorgeous.

Tucked away on the Southpoint-Salisbury office park campus where JTB meets Belfort Rd, it’s fairly convenient to get to. Call to make an appointment and get directions.

Everyone wants to be beautiful and feel relaxed when the big day rolls around. Heritage Education’s Spa is an affordable, deliciously wonderful way to make you sparkle and smile.

Natural Outdoors Wedding Ceremony in Spring

Spring wedding ceremonies outdoors in Treaty Oaks Park in downtown Jacksonville, FL are so pretty. Home to the oldest tree in Jacksonville (more than 200 years) its branches spread out far and wide, and are so long and heavy that many rest directly on the ground. To give you perspective, this tree is larger than an office building.

On a beautiful evening I married two lady loves on the pool deck at the Crowne Royal on Jacksonville, FL’s southbank in downtown on the shores of the St. John river. Congratulations dear friends!!

Commitment ceremony for seniors

This morning I performed a commitment ceremony for the two most adorable senior citizens. Pension payouts and other financial concerns means they can’t get married. That didn’t stop these two lovebirds. From the 22nd floor in her senior center apartment, with two friends attending and another snapping pictures, Liz and Elijah made beautiful promises of love and loyalty to each other overlooking the downtown skyline.

Folks, making dreams come true is the reason I do this job.

The Haskell Building – Wedding Venue Spotlight

Wedding ceremonies at the Haskell Building in downtown Jacksonville, FL (Duval County) located directly on the St. John’s river are always fun to do. The location is spectacular and it’s the only venue directly on the riverbank; it has the best view of Jacksonville from this perspective. With a gorgeous arch outside and a fabulous deco inspired setting inside, you couldn’t ask for a more lovely location to take your vows.

The extremely capable Karen Fritts runs the RiverFront Cafe which is the event arm for the facility and is just delightful to work with. A true pro, she oversees the management of your event leaving you to focus on more important things (like getting beautified.)
