Beach Wedding Guide | Foreward

A beach wedding guide to plan your ceremony in Jacksonville, FL, St. Augustine, FL or Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, Florida. Everything you need to know about creating a beach ceremony in NE Florida has been detailed in this book.

Foreword

“My job is marrying people. My vocation…making dreams come true.”

Close your eyes and imagine yourself on your wedding day.

Are you standing on a beach with your fiancé by your side – just the two of you at sunset with dolphins frolicking just off the shore?

Maybe you envision you and your darling standing under an arch with a warm Florida sun on your shoulders as your friends and family sit nearby to witness your magical moment as you make important promises to each other?

Perhaps you aren’t even sure yet what that vision is and need some help figuring it all out…you only know that for as long as you can remember, you’ve wanted to get married on a beach.

As a dream maker, I passionately strive towards achieving my clients’ vision for their perfect day. It is with some apprehension when I see choices that can, and on occasion do, mar a special moment. Choices, that, had they asked, or thought to consider in advance, would have been a non issue and thus ensuring their sugar plum wedding.

When I set out to write this book, it with a specific objective. Let me ask you, have you ever gone on a vacation and thought to yourself, if only I had a local who could show me around – all the best stuff to do, where to save the most money, tips and tricks that only locals would know? That’s the angle I took when writing this book. Having performed hundreds of weddings in northeast Florida, I’ve accumulated mountains of tribal knowledge to share with you here. This book is crafted with goals of answering a common set of questions about beach wedding planning and giving out-of-towners (as well as local clients) the best tools I can offer to help them achieve their wedding ceremony vision.

How did I do this?

Lets just say I didn’t take a leisurely stroll on the beach and jot down some thoughts. I’ve spent countless hours literally walking block by block to map over 200 public beaches while covered in sunblock and sand, and eaten so many sandwiches in my car that I could live the rest of my life and happily never eat a tuna fish sandwich again. I’ve driven popular driving routes from airports, ports and hotels so you have the most accurate information to plan from. I’ve taken picture upon picture so you can see exactly what the area looks like, and talked with so many people, I hate the sound of my own voice.

But most important, I sat down and wrote about everything I could possibly think of, in hopes that it will give you concrete details so you can make decisions, no matter where in the world you live.

This book is my dream come true, authored specifically so your dream can come true.

Enjoy!

Same Sex Marriage Economic Impact Interview with That Wedding Lady

Same sex marriage is coming to Florida in a big way. Today the first gay wedding was performed in the state and I perform my first legal gay wedding tomorrow morning on the steps of the courthouse in Jacksonville. Take a peek at my January 5, 2015 interview where I talk with a reporter from WXJT about the economic impact to Duval and other local counties.

Gay Weddings in Florida – The Day is Coming!

The day is coming my friends when Florida lawmakers will no longer be able to dictate whom can marry whom. Whether Florida goes kicking and screaming like an tantrummy 3 year old, or somehow manages to salvage some grace and class by making this change without all the anticipated ugliness the issue ignites remains to be seen. My guess is the first option is most likely. Scroll down to read further op-ed.

Florida Same Sex Commitment Ceremony

Pride! Not gay. Not straight. Not anything else. Just pride….in who we are and the people we love.

Florida’s southern contingent, infinitely more tolerant and embracing the live and let live philosophy has gained so much ground that approximately 72% of Floridians now believe that gay people should be allowed to marry. Northeast Florida by contrast still exhibits a stubbornness to change as evidenced by their much lower numbers of support. Despite this, approval numbers for gay marriage are creeping up in this region.

Can you feel the love?

Once again the issue circles round and should enough signatures be obtained on a petition I myself recently signed, Tallahassee will again be putting this up for a vote in the next battle for supremacy. Eventually this bill WILL pass and gay people will be allowed to marry whom they choose just like everyone else.
